“In the beginning.” These words are some of my favorite in all Scripture.

They immediately bring to mind the kind of stories I loved as a child (and still love). Stories that captured my imagination, delighted my heart, and filled me with joy. Stories that began with “Once upon a time,” “There once was a prince,” or even “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…”

But these words, “in the beginning,” are different than those that begin any fairytale.

They’re special.

They’re true.

This is the story The Gospel Project tells to people of all ages every single week. The story that begins with words better than “once upon a time.” The story that only God can tell.
