Gospel links for gospel culture (3/22)

3 Doctrines to Help Share the Gospel with Mormons

Travis Kerns: Sharing Christ with a member of another faith tradition can be frightening. And some traditions seem to cause more angst than others. In my experience, one causing a great sense of trepidation is Mormonism. This need not be the case. Let’s consider a few ways to reach our Mormon neighbors as effectively as possible, so they will turn from false religion and follow the Jesus of Scripture.

Your Church Needs Biblical Theology

Russell Meeks:
Biblical theology shows us that this covenant was superseded in a way we couldn’t imagine. Israel doesn’t obey the law, and they can’t stay in God’s holy presence without dying, so the Father sends the Son to finally and fully atone for sin. And in this new covenant believers house, God’s presence—our bodies are the tabernacle, and God’s Spirit dwells within us! This trinitarian understanding of the better covenant far surpasses what we could understand about God and his relationship with humans if we were to stop at just reading Exodus.

You Cannot Follow Jesus By Yourself

Robby Gallaty:

What We Lose When We Lose Language-Learning

Trevin Wax:
When seen in this light, language learning becomes more than just doing diagrams, memorizing vocabulary, or figuring out the right verb tenses. The more fluent you are in another language, the more you realize that some words are virtually impossible to translate accurately. You come across concepts and shades of meaning that find no one-to-one correspondence. You have to live within the world of the language before you can fully grasp the meaning of a word or phrase.

Is VBS still worth it?
