How does God bring people to faith in Jesus? Let’s explore the answer to this question by looking at the concept of calling.

God calls people to salvation in two interconnected and inseparable ways: 

God calls people to salvation externally through the proclamation of the gospel, the news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a perfect life, died on the cross in payment of our sins, and rose again from the grave. 

God also calls people to salvation internally, through the Holy Spirit working in the heart of the person who hears the gospel message.The external and internal call of God are essential. They are the way God brings people to faith in Christ. He saves us and calls us “with a holy calling,” as the Apostle Paul said, “not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.” (1 Tim. 1:9)
